Dr. Neubauer · Explosion · Short pips

Explosion Extreme

The most disruptive Explosion: a fast short pips with a distinctly awkward, low return.

Explosion Extreme pushes the family towards maximum disturbance. The firmer sponge and the pip geometry strip most of the rotation from the incoming ball, so returns arrive flat, fast and hard to read. It is still an attacking short pips — the point is to hit through the opponent — but the ball quality punishes players who expect a normal topspin exchange. Spin production stays low and reversal is limited; this is not a long-pips substitute.

Known users

Fast-block and hitting players — pen-hold forehands and close-to-table backhands that punish topspin early.

Dr. Neubauer publishes no athlete roster for this sheet, so TTDNA shows the player profile it is built for instead of invented names.
