Blackout

A slow, low-friction anti designed for close-table blocking, strong pace reduction and pronounced spin reversal.

Blackout combines a strongly grip-reduced topsheet with an ultra-soft, linearly dampening sponge. Its primary strengths are absorbing incoming pace, keeping blocks short and returning the opponent's rotation with a disruptive trajectory.

Competition approval is only shown once it has been checked against the current ITTF list of authorised racket coverings. A shop listing on its own is not treated as proof, and an unverified covering is never shown as illegal. No reliable official Sauer & Tröger list price is published per region, so no price is shown rather than an invented one.

TTDNA values are TTDNA's own editorially normalised 0–100 ratings. They are never an official Sauer & Tröger rating and never a conversion of the Sauer & Tröger manufacturer scale. Spin reversal is the returned rotation of the incoming ball. It is stored separately from the TTDNA spin rating, which measures the rubber's own spin production.

Strengths

  • Very strong pace absorption
  • High spin reversal
  • Excellent passive-block security
  • Low automatic rebound
  • Available in blue

Weaknesses

  • Requires specialised racket angles
  • Lower offensive flexibility than classic anti
  • Not suitable for conventional inverted strokes

Best for

  • Close-table anti blockers
  • Players wanting maximum slowing effect

Not ideal for

  • Conventional topspin players
  • Players wanting an attacking anti
  • Beginners expecting inverted-rubber technique
